Services - Tune Ups

Times change. Repairs do too. If you did a tune-up on a 57 Chevy, you’d replace points and plugs for about $25.00.
Welcome to the new millennium. It is not uncommon to spend $200.00, $300.00, and sometimes considerably more tuning your late model car. Most newer models no longer use a distributor; electronic ignition with multi-port fuel injection is an incredible improvement. It’s the primary reason for the higher fuel efficiency ratings of this generation of automobiles.
So . . . now . . . you install platinum (sometimes double platinum) spark plugs, heavy duty ignition wires, a new air filter (ALWAYS a new air filter), a new fuel filter (ALWAYS a new fuel filter), sometimes a pcv valve, fuel injection treatment, and, more often then not, a top-end cleaning to keep the valves working free and easy.
Parts, of course, vary from vehicle to vehicle, but don’t be surprised to spend $150.00 to $250.00 plus one to 4 hours labor to do the installation.
You also shouldn’t be surprised to improve your fuel economy by 10% . . . and maybe more!
